“Maguelone 2” is part of the Maguelone series. It is a contemporary semi-abstract painting created using acrylic paint.
This artwork was inspired by a walk on the Maguelone peninsula in Languedoc-Roussillon, a place where nature, light and wildlife combine to form a landscape of great richness.
I have translated this experience into a minimalist and intuitive pictorial language. Deep blues dominate the composition, interspersed with touches of red and green that create moments of respite and subtle contrasts.
The artwork as a whole evokes an inner landscape, somewhere between contemplation and energy, like a sensitive memory of the place. Each brushstroke seeks to capture an emotion or an atmosphere, rather than a representation.
