“Between Mountains and Wonders” is a contemporary semi-abstract painting inspired by the landscapes of the Larzac. I painted it on my return from this region, which is characterised by the vastness of its plateaus, its undulating terrain and the light that transforms the landscape as the day progresses.
The mountains and hills blend into a horizon of luminous colours. The shades of blue, pink, ochre, purple and orange evoke the changing hues of the sky and the earth. The warm colours complement the cooler tones, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
Painted in acrylic, this artwork plays with layers of colour and textural effects. The forms remain free-flowing and suggest the landscape without depicting it faithfully. They thus leave room for the imagination.
With “Between Mountains and Wonders”, I sought to capture the emotion felt when facing the vast expanses of the Larzac. This contemporary semi-abstract painting invites you to escape and brings softness, light and serenity to an interior.
