“Horizon 7” is a semi-abstract painting that invites the viewer to contemplate a landscape straddling reality and the imagination. This artwork is part of the Horizon series.
The sky occupies a large part of the composition. The clouds blend together in shades of blue, purple, pink and pale yellow. Touches of red appear here and there, lending movement to the whole.
On the horizon, a golden light stretches between the sky and the earth. It creates a luminous opening at the heart of the landscape.
The foreground is more expressive. Blues, purples, reds and ochres are layered upon one another. The texture lends the landscape an almost tactile depth.
The forms are deliberately left to the viewer’s imagination. The landscape thus lies somewhere between observation and imagination.
With “Horizon 7”, I sought to capture a moment of light. A landscape in motion, where the sky seems to open up gradually. An invitation to let one’s gaze wander off into the horizon.
You can also discover “Horizon 1”, “Horizon 2” and “Horizon 3”, three further artworks from the Horizon series.
